who you are

Who you are isn't the clothes you wear,
Or the way you do your hair

Who you are is the person you choose to be
No matter what People want to see

Who you are is you
So Please
just
Stay
True,

Quiet harmony

It's happened twice now... my daughter and son who normally are trying to rip each others throats out have sat down and watched T.V. together. This is big! I mean monumental!

I take life day by day and at this point I'll take a few quiet moments spent together as my bliss of this week.

The love and logic system I am doing must be working because in general all parties are getting along better! I love this family and will not let it go with out a fight!

So, my bliss is seeing my hard work paying off by the family becoming more cohesive!

Fishin'

The breeze was soft blowing across our faces as we sat in veteran's memorial park. David was standing on the river bank making excellent casts. The proud man stood behind him. " I taught him that in one morning he said."

Upon arrival with first cast David's bobber sunk and he grabbed his pole, The Darrell declared it a snag, but I knew it to be a fish! He pulled the fish in towards him and fought to brink in the fish and suddenly the battle was over. Snapped was the line

How fitting to have this Easter afternoon in the enjoyment of one another with a soft kiss of the afternoon. We had enjoyed a meal of Beef Roast with roasted potatoes, carrots, celery and shallots.Darrell is a fine hand in the kitchen.

Standing on the river bank with my son was my moment of bliss!

No pain

I am blissfully happy to be out of the acute pain I was in. I had major oral surgery and spent at least 10 days in serious pain, hence the lack of posts, but now I am pleased to say... NO PAIN!

That is my bliss today and tomorrow!

Boys being brothers

My boys are two years apart. If you have children you know what this can mean...... " MOM... HE GOT IN MY CHAIR.... MOM HE'S ANNOYING ME!" This is the norm around here and then there is this.

A few days I heard some noise coming from the other room one son was beat bopping and the other rapping, then they would trade. My boys normally at each other's throats singing together. I wish I had recorded it.

As I type they are playing out the last bit of sunshine, together with my oldest's friend. I know amazing again! When they were little they would call each other buddy...
" hey buddy lets go get the trucks" and so forth... they were not old enough to fight fierce yet.

Now they can certainly fight hard, but today they are playing hard together. My bliss, my boys being brothers.

The calm

Lately it seems as if everyday has been an argument, but this last weekend something miraculous happened.

NO ONE FOUGHT! It was a concerted effort to do anything not to engage my daughter or let her engage us and it worked. It has continued to work during this week as well, which says a lot as it is spring break.

Hopefully it was not the calm in the eye of a storm, but a gentle breeze blowing some of the storm clouds away! I can hope, right?

So my bliss this past week has been the calm.

time spent with my daughter

Recently, I have been having a very hard time with my daughter and I am learning to treasure the small moments we have together. Last week we made bracelets. Orange bracelets to celebrate m.s. week/month. We made a few extra so I held a who can respond first on facebook with my ms friends and so I sent out a couple of bracelets as well.

My bliss is not in sharing with my friends, but in finding special moments when we get along and find a common ground. So for today my bliss is loving my child.

The walk

Yesterday, lil' wild man and I took a walk. Boy have I got a chatterbox! He's also a natural athlete so he talked as fast as he walked. We walked to a local park with a wonderful set of swings and then he talked some more.

One child, still a child I know I must cherish these moments. Yesterday my bliss was the walk.

the bath

My bliss yesterday was my bath and oh, was it a bath! I only had one rule and that was to soak and use as much hot water as I wanted. I have come upon a passion for lavender and recently heard a beauty tip, so I have expanded my accouterments.
I must say first my bath must be ouch you can barely get it it hot. I used a lavender bath soap and had beautiful bubbles.

I then donned the beauty mitts, the lil' scratchy gloves and added soap to my ensconced hands. Due to the exfoliating nature of the gloves you have to use your body and a firm scrubbing to get the bubbles flowing. It is invigorating and relaxing at the same time. I scrubbed up twice testing two new soaps and giving my skin a good healthy glow.

I soaked and then brought out the "your gonna wish you had one" new find. It is a scalp stimulator that you use while showering. It is a next to orgasmic feeling to be all lathered up me with an organic aloe shampoo and scrub and stimulate my scalp in circular motions while toasting in my tub. A good rinse and repeat!

I soaked and soaked and played chicken with the water. The point where you know it's going to be freezing but should have been on long enough to have a tank of water waiting. I won, water drained and I laid my head back so the hot water would flow from my scalp down across my shoulders. My back had been baked well, but my neck not so much.I soaked and rolled and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I had my bliss.
